두드림의 의미는 상황에 따라 많은 뜻으로 변화할 수 있다.

곤경에 빠졌을 때 사람들은 걱정으로 자신을 많이 두드리기도 하고,

꿈과 이상이 있는 사람에게는  두드림의 의미가 좌절을 딛고 미래를 품고 살아내는  용기를 뜻한다. 반면에 두드림을 타인에게 적용하면 폭력을 뜻하게 되거나, 정신적으로 타인을 괴롭히게 되는 상하관계가 생긴다. 자아실현을 위한 용기는  아주 큰 두드림을 요구할 수도 있지만, 그 반대로 귀 기울여야 겨우 들릴 수 있는 내적 두드림도 있다.

사물의 이치는 이렇게 반대인 듯 하면서 같다.

나는 연주자와 청중모두가 귀 기울임  속에서 , 북만이 표현 할 수 있는  두드림의 다양한 뉘앙스를 함께 듣고자 한다. 

연주자는 漢子의 人 형상의 가운데 지점에서 연주하게 되어있다.

숫자 9는 양을 의미하고, 6은 음을 뜻한다. 6은 9안에 들어있다.

음양의 이치를 두드림의 다양한 북소리에 담아보았다.

 

The meaning of Dudurim (percussing) can change variously according to the situation. Sometimes one does the Dudurim out of anxiety when in troubles, and sometimes, for those who have a dream and an ideal, Dudurim can mean courage to overcome the hardships and live on toward the hopeful future. On the other hand, Dudurim can also mean violence, both mental and bodily, if it is to be applied to other people. A big Dudurim may be demanded for the courage for self-realization, while there can be an internal Dudurim that only a close listening can detect.

This is the way things are: opposition blends with identity.

I want both the player and the audience to be all ears and hear the various nuances of the Dudurim that can be produced only by the drums.

The player is to be placed on the central point of the Chinese character 人.

The number 9 means Yang(陽) and the number 6 means Yin(陰); 6 is contained in 9.
